Why These Herbs:

Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) contains compounds that have been historically used to combat parasitic infections.

Active compounds: Wormwood contains thujone, a chemical believed to be responsible for its anti-parasitic effects. However, thujone can be toxic in large doses and cause severe side effects like seizures and kidney failure.

Traditional use: The herb was traditionally used for intestinal worms..

Black walnut (Juglans nigra) hulls contain chemicals that have traditionally been used to kill and expel intestinal parasites.

Active compound: The main chemical is juglone, which is also used as a natural pesticide. In lab settings, juglone has demonstrated inhibitory effects on some parasitic worms.

Other beneficial compounds: The hulls also contain tannins, which may help support digestive health by soothing tissues.
