Code Red
Details
Code Red is a blend of herbs to support women’s health during menstruation. When combined, these herbs are known for their soothing and balancing properties, offering natural relief from menstrual discomfort
Red Raspberry Leaves: Because raspberry leaf is considered a uterine tonic, it may also help with heavy or painful menstruation.
Stinging Nettle: Nettle leaf is very nutritious, rich in iron, magnesium, calcium, chromium, zinc, potassium, phosphorus and silicon. The nutritional content, particularly the iron, makes this herb an excellent support for fatigue, convalescing after illness, and anemia.
Chamomile: There is a long tradition of chamomile as a women’s remedy, and women have often found chamomile helpful with painful periods.
Peppermint: It contains menthol. So, it acts as a muscle relaxant, as per research published in the Molecules journal in 2021. This can help soothe the contractions of the uterus, potentially reducing the severity of cramps. “The anti-inflammatory properties of this herb may help decrease inflammation, especially in the pelvic area, which can contribute to cramping during periods,” says Dr Jain. Menthol also acts as a natural analgesic, providing relief from pain. When applied topically or consumed as tea, this herb can help numb the pain associated with period cramps. Peppermint can enhance blood flow, which may help alleviate cramps and discomfort. “Improved circulation can help the muscles in the uterus relax and reduce the intensity of contractions,” says the expert.
Dosage: 1-2 dropperfuls every 4-6 hours as needed for pain or discomfort. Approx. 60 servings.
